Working in tandem with the 2/3-inch EXR CMOS sensor, the EXR Processor achieves a new level of performance. Tapping into the power of its two CPUs, EXR Core and a reconfigurable processor*, it provides powerful and speedy processing, even Full HD Movie and high-speed continuous shooting.

High Resolution

Wide Dynamic Range
In high contrast scenes, for example when shooting landscapes with a strong contrast between bright and dark areas, this technology reproduces the natural tonality in both highlights and shadow.
High Sensitivity & Low Noise
Even when shooting in low-light at high sensitivity settings, photos are crisp with low-noise. Both indoors and night scenes and other low-light scenes are captured naturally and beautifully.
EXR AUTO Recognizes 99 Patterns for exceptional photos of any scene, any time
The new EXR AUTO with Motion Detection instantly recognizes 54 scene types, automatically optimizes every setting from exposure to white balance, and switches to the ideal sensor mode: HR High Resolution for well-lit conditions, SN High Sensitivity/Low Noise mode for low light, and DR Dynamic Range mode for high-contrast scenes.
Advanced Scene Recognition
This new EXR AUTO featuring Motion Detection virtually reduces subject blur. This has expanded the available shooting types, from recognized scenes and automatically optimized EXR modes, into 99 patterns in EXR AUTO mode.
Vector Graphics
The updated GUI (graphic user interface) incorporates flash technology, adding an intuitive and entertaining dimension to searching and displaying photos and accessing features. And a new font display technology produces menus and icons that are easy on the eye.
