What precautions should I take when handling Microdrives?

The recording media used in a Microdrive is actually a miniature spinning hard disk. As such, Microdrives are more vulnerable than xD-Picture Cards or SmartMedia to vibration, impact, and humidity. Incorrect use of a Microdrive can lead to the loss (corruption) of recorded data. Read the information below carefully to ensure that you use your Microdrives correctly.

  • Do not switch off the equipment when the Microdrive is running, such as during recording or playback.
  • Do not bend, drop or apply strong force to a Microdrive.
  • Do not use or store Microdrives in environments subject to strong static electricity or electrical noise.
  • Do not use or store Microdrives in very hot and humid locations or in corrosive environments.
  • Do not apply stickers, etc. to the Microdrive itself.

Note that Fujifilm Canada Inc. accepts no liability whatsoever for the loss (corruption) of recorded data. Important data should be backed up onto another media (CD recordable disk, hard disk, etc).
