| NANOCUBIC Technology |

Fujifilm NANOCUBIC technology is designed to offer industry-leading performance, capacity and reliability. It is, without question, a technology that answers the needs of data-intensive, storage-hungry industries.

In concert with IBM™, it has yielded a 300GB native capacity (900GB with 3:1 compression) tape. In league with Iomega™, it has yielded a 1.5GB mini-storage device. And that's just the beginning. Clearly, it will shape removable data storage systems for years to come.

Technology takes these processes to a nano scale. Nano-sized magnetic particles are simultaneously applied with non-magnetic particles to create a smooth surface with even particle dispersion. While the principles are similar to all coating manufacturing, the NANOCUBIC™ process is successful in creating and controlling particles on the order of 10- 9 metres small.

Fujifilm NANOCUBIC™ is a Combination of Three Unique Technologies:
  • Coating Technology: An advanced precision coating process creates layers 5 times thinner than existing technologies.
  • Particle Technology: A process that creates two unique new ferromagnetic particles that are both just tens of nanometers in size: acicular ferromagnetic alloy, and tabular ferromagnetic hexagonal barium ferrite.
  • Dispersion Technology: Employing a specially formulated polymer binder creates even dispersion and uniform packed structure.
