New T-5 Lighting Technology Powering Canadian Warehouse

FUJIFILM Canada Inc. recently completed the installation of a new warehouse lighting system which will reduce future power consumption by 50%. The installation of the new T-5 lighting system was completed in November and promises improved energy savings, significant emissions reductions and an enhanced work environment.

The T-5 system is the latest warehouse lighting technology and is the new standard for most high-end construction projects. At the core of the technology are the fixtures themselves which use 50% less watts of power as compared to FCAN’s previous fixtures. The system also produces improved levels and quality of light while boasting 75% longer lamp life. Most impressive is the energy savings - almost 75% - generated by infra-red motion sensors that switch off lights when areas are not in use.

The T-5 system boasts the following environmental benefits:
  • Energy savings of 685,415 kilowatt hours per year
  • Emissions reductions 150,791 kgs of greenhouse and noxious gas per year

These emission reductions and energy savings are equivalent to any one of:
  • Planting 70 trees every day
  • Planting 45 acres of forest every year
  • Saving 18,484 gallons of gas every year
  • Removing 33 cars from the road annually
  • Driving 1,151 fewer miles every day
