Fujifilm Announces the Launch of the New All-Black Version of the Award-Winning Fujifilm X100s

Mississauga, ON, January 6, 2014 – FUJIFILM Canada today announced the new FUJIFILM X100S black version in response to strong demand from customers.

The multi-award winning professional-grade FUJIFILM X100S digital camera features a technologically advanced APS-C X-Trans CMOS II Sensor and improved EXR Processor II. The X100S uses a bright FUJINON 23mm F2 fixed lens that delivers amazing image quality from edge to edge, all within a compact and superbly-built body.

The FUJIFILM X100S combines three high-performance Fujifilm components that give photographers a uniquely-advanced, professional digital camera experience. By using Fujifilm’s X-Trans CMOS II Sensor, EXR Processor II and FUJINON 23mm F2 fixed lens, the X100S is capable of fast autofocus speeds of up to 0.08 seconds. They also increase its image resolution by 25%(1) and reduce noise by 30%(2) over the first generation X100.

All of the high quality components of the FUJIFILM X100S Black - including the top plate and dials - are uniformly black, which gives the camera a very premium feel. It is particularly suited to street photography, thanks to its discreet design that blends in with its surroundings, and its quiet release that captures your subject unaware.

The X100S features an Intelligent Hybrid Autofocus system that switches between phase and contrast detection, depending on the subject or scene, to achieve the best balance between speed and focus precision. It also features a revolutionary Digital Split Image function that uses the X-Trans CMOS II Sensor’s built-in phase detection pixels to display dual images that can be manually focused by the user. Focus Peaking function highlights high contrast areas of subjects for precise focusing so that users can achieve perfect focus every time.

The following X100S accessories*4 are also available in black:

  • 28mm Wide Conversion Lens for wide angle photography
