TOPIC: Camera turns off unexpectedly.

Question:
TOPIC: Camera turns off unexpectedly.

Answer:
There may be several reasons why your camera shuts off automatically: 1. Power Save. Usually, the camera's Power Save function is activated. When this function is enabled, the screen temporarily turns off (Sleep mode) and the viewfinder lamp (green) blinks at 1 second intervals to save power if the camera is not used for 30 seconds. If the camera remains unused for an additional interval (usually 2 minutes or 5 minutes), it is turned off. The purpose of this function is to afford you the maximum possible running time from your batteries. More information about the Power Save function can be found in your camera's user manual. 2. Batteries. If the camera turns off when the shutter button is pressed, this is an indication that the batteries are weak or of poor quality. We recommend only using high quality alkaline batteries or a fully charged set of high quality NiMH rechargeable batteries rated at 2500mAh or greater (the higher the mAh rating, the better the batteries will perform). When using a Lithium-Ion battery the issue may be related to an exhausted battery. We recommend inserting the Lithium-Ion battery in to the battery charge to charge. However, if the issue persists, we recommend the camera be evaluated at an FUJIFILM authorized service centre.
